Irvington Business District

Local Irvington businesses are open during construction and appreciate your continued support!

The Irvington District is one of the five towns incorporated in 1956 to form Fremont. The "Five Corners" area of the early Irvington settlement – where Washington and Fremont Boulevards, and Union and Bay Streets converge – remains a hub of activity for Irvington today.

Several major thoroughfares pass through Irvington, making it an ideal center for commerce. Washington and Fremont Boulevards connect directly to Interstates 680 and 880 within 1-mile and 2- miles respectively.

Businesses Will Remain Open Throughout Construction
During construction of the Grade Separation Project at Washington Boulevard, detour roads will be constructed to allow continued access through the area. Efforts will be made to address and minimize construction-related impacts to businesses and residents in the project area including Irvington Business District, such as detour signage, informational flyers, and media ads.

As part of the project, the Irvington Business District welcome sign, located at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Driscoll Road will be temporarily removed during construction and replaced after construction is complete.

Parking
Reduced street parking during construction should have minimal impact on customers’ ability to access stores and businesses along Washington Boulevard, given the abundance of parking lots.

We encourage residents to continue to visit the Irvington Business District throughout construction of the Grade Separation Project. The District also will continue to host the popular Irvington Farmer's Market held every Sunday throughout the year in the “Five Corners” area.
