BART Demolition of Abandoned Pump Station
In the fall of 2006, BART demolished an abandoned water pump station on its property in the City of Fremont. The pump station was once an ancillary part of the Hetch Hetchy system that provides water to millions of people in four Bay Area counties. Located just southeast of Fremont Central Park on Paseo Padre Parkway, the pump station was demolished for safety reasons. For additional information or construction updates, call BART’s project information line at (510) 476-3900 or send an email to bartwarmspringsextension@bart.gov.

ACWD Water Line Relocation Work Completed in Spring 2007
Between October 2006 and spring 2007, the Alameda County Water District (ACWD) lowered its 48-inch water line to accommodate the new Union Pacific Railroad corridor and future BART extension. This work, which began in October 2006, was completed in early spring 2007. The water line runs parallel to Washington Boulevard and is located halfway between Washington Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway.
